Our 90th Convention is here.  The convention experience is something we all should enjoy and learn from.  Take time to attend the sessions and be an active part of OUR convention!  There will be plenty of time each evening to enjoy the hospitality and camaraderie of the delegates and candidates.  Enjoy the experience and take back a renewed commitment to your Posts to keep our American Legion second to none in our communities, State and Nation!

This past twelve months have been very active and we have had many positive points to build upon.  Unfortunately, membership was not one of the positive points.  Although we did finish eleventh nationally, we must not be satisfied with that position.  Simply put, renewals are killing us.  We are going to make a concerted effort to curb this decline and that will be accomplished by an aggressive schedule of membership workshops.  Commanders (District, Section and Department) will be in constant contact with their respective areas.  We will furnish Posts with the tools to accomplish our membership goals.  This undertaking will include all Commanders at every level, the Department staff, Past Department Commanders, Past National Commanders and every interested Legion Family member that can contribute to this mission!  Our Posts are there for the camaraderie of our Legionnaires and their families, as well as to promote the programs of our American Legion within, and for, our individual communities.  “The Post is the window through which the community views our American Legion.
