Dear KBS Citizen, Legionnaires, Sons of the Legion & families,
We have wrapped up the application process and would like all to know the profile of a typical KBS class. It now reflects the focus and tone which best leads to success at KBS. All of the citizens have specific skills. The City that best utilizes its resources (human, material and commercial) will win the Honor City designation for the next day. Most successful decisions are based on the “big picture”, not just the immediate impact or the prevailing mood.
Total population: 161 Citizens from across the state The citizens have requested to participate in various aspects of the KBS experience; 115 are varsity athletes requesting to participate in Intramurals; 44 have requested to participate in the Media program (KBS newspaper, KTV, KBS Daily News and posting the web site); 35 have signed up to play with the KBS Band; 42 incoming citizens have signed up to be on the Honor Guard.
These extracurricular activities, and the curriculum, will be supported by a staff of: 28 KBS grads. acting as mentors & counselors 13 American Legion members who will attend as advisors 3 Members of the Sons of the Legion as advisors
The structure: 6 Cities with each city having a Mayor, City Council, School Board, Chamber of Commerce, Homeland Security Committee and a Recreation Board (each electing their own leader, conducting their own agenda and contributing to the growth and development of their city. 2 Counties containing 3 cities.
