Eligibility for membership in the Sons of the American Legion must meet the following requirements established by The American Legion:

1. Applicant must be a male descendant, adopted son or stepson of a member of The American Legion.

2. Or the applicant must be a male descendant of a veteran who died in service during the Eligibility Dates: World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Lebanon, Grenada, Panama, or the Persian Gulf War to present conflicts. Or who died subsequent to their Honorable Discharge from such service.
