The Pennsylvania American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of The American Legion, and The American Legion Riders meet for our annual Department convention.  Some of the guests that addressed the Legion family this year was Dan Onorato, Allegheny County Chief Executive and candidate for governor; Honorable Tom Corbett, Pennsylvania Attorney General and candidate for governor and Pat Toomey, candidate for senator.

For 92 years the Pennsylvania American Legion has been in existence making a positive difference in each community as well as remaining active in local, state and national legislation.  Each year we gather together about 1500 delegates to honor award winners such as Teacher of the Year, Firefighter of the Year and Employer of the Year (just to name a few).  Our main objective is to educate our Legionnaires on today’s issues and concern for veterans and their families.  We also take this very important time to review and possible pass Resolutions that will be forwarded onto our National Organization as well as our state government.
